Collection publique

Through the texts of Max Léo Hauri, Olivia Alexandra Fahmy, Guillaume Pilet, Sophie Ballmer and Nadia Elamly, this book explores the issues related to a public collection linked to a museum, in this case the Musée cantonal des Beaux-Arts de Lausanne. The accessibility of these public goods, as well as their representativeness, are questioned in essays of various forms, mixing facts and fictions, observations and speculations. Designed for the exhibition Jardin d’hiver #1: Comment peut-on être (du village d’à côté) persan (martien)? organized by Jill Gasparina at the MCBA during the summer of 2021.

Back cover: A collection of state cultural goods, assigned for public use. What Tunnel Tunnel members have made of it is synthesized in the book. Between exploration of database arcades, speculative narrations, accounts of political action, proposals for alternatives to the dominant narrative, personal reflections, and institutional critiques, the variety of content in this publication reflects the personalities that make up our collective.
