Public Science
In the exhibition Public Science, Matthias Sohr exposes the tangible signs that take shape in our cities and everyday spaces, without us taking notice despite them being in a constant dialogue with our bodies. His sculptures – whether armrests, bathroom structures or floor markings – replay forms and reliefs that are as much a part of the history of art as they are of the street, and which have thus become part of our daily lives at the cost of an almost unconscious assimilation. Matthias Sohr re-enacts these forms and materials in the exhibition space, re-sensitizing the viewer’s visual attention and bodily engagement through his works.
