Faites demi-tour dès que possible image

Mélissa Rouvinet’s practice seeks to construct a framework of representation for narratives linked to bodies and objects. By creating scenographic spaces, she questions the establishment of connections between forms and senses in the emergence of fiction. The apprehension of colors and sensuality of materials runs throughout her work.

Faites demi-tour dès que possible is a project resulting from an initiatory itinerary, a long reverie of a few months, maybe more, around the place of the Tunnel Square. Invited to intervene outside the exhibition space, the artist is inspired by the movements that surround her. She reveals this environment and constructs a framework of representation, a narrative, linked to the objects she presents there, exposing human behaviors.

During the opening, she will invite the artist Charlotte Nordin to sing and perform. Together, they will summon a sonic and visual landscape, as if in a ritual.

Mélissa Rouvinet (1988) graduated from Édhéa in 2019 and lives in Lausanne where she follows the master studies at La Manufacture, Haute École Romande de Théâtre in the scenography section. Her work has been shown at Galerie 3000 in Bern, at the Bernhard Bischoff gallery and is taking part this summer in the exhibition Plattform 20, at Fri Art Kunsthalle Fribourg.

Charlotte Nordin (1983) experiments with sound in her performative work within her installations, usually composed of several tons of raw clay. Her performances are sung, and accompanied by pre-recorded instruments.
