Tame the confusion, disrupt the domesticity. Between the solid and the liquid, the hollow and the full, the organic and the artificial, the tentacular sculptures of Johanna Odersky, Mire Lee and Philippe Daerendinger unfold as if looking for a landmark, a handle to hold on to. The materials vary, scattered or fusioned, and echo the composition of the bodies in the exhibition space, referring them to their structure, to the texture of their flesh.

Johanna Odersky (1993) lives and works in Frankfurt. With her sculptures, she is interested in the silhouettes that separate the interior from the exterior, as well as the mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion that emerge from them. Also known under the name of her musical project Iku, she has presented her work in several exhibitions, festivals and cultural venues in Europe and internationally. She is currently studying Visual Arts at the Städelschule.

Mire Lee (1988) lives and works in Amsterdam. Her sculptural work explores organic textures with various materials, such as electric motors, PVC pipes, silicone and grease. She has presented her work in several exhibitions in Korea and Europe, and is among the artists exhibited at this year’s Lyon Biennale. She is a graduate of Seoul University of Fine Arts.

Philippe Daerendinger (1984) lives and works in London. He creates works that assemble utilitarian objects and hybrid forms, mixing personal narratives and artistic references. A graduate of the ECAL, he has presented his work in several exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad.
